Name Giving Ceremony

It’s a special day when a new child comes into a family. It’s a time of celebration. It’s also a time when family and friends come together to welcome the child and make promises about their part in that child’s life.

In Hebrew tradition a new baby was brought to the priest at the Temple and before the community to be named by the father of the child. So the name giving and receiving ceremony is nothing new but is a wonderful way of celebrating the safe arrival of this new member of the family. If the new member of the family is an adopted child, this can be part of the ceremony – embracing the child into the arms of the whole family.

If you have re-married and have become a blended family, I can conduct a special ceremony for you to call all the children into a family bond together. This does instil a sense of ‘belonging’.

Re-Commitments.

How lovely to re-affirm the vows you took at your wedding and re-affirm one another. This is often done on a mile-stone anniversary.

I love to do re-commitment ceremonies – they are very special. Two people with a fully mature and time-tested love, each one reminding the other how important they are by the words spoken at the ceremony.

Funerals – Life Celebrations.

Funerals are a time of closure and a time of remembering. There is a time to be born and a time to die.

We can celebrate the life well lived and remember all the good things from the loved one’s life and celebrate them. We can remember what a great parent, grandparent, husband, wife, mentor or friend the departed one has been, making the Life Celebration a fitting tribute.

I understand the great need for sensitivity at this time of loss and therefore do the arranging and interviewing necessary at a pace that the grieving one can handle. I am a kind person and a great listener.

I will help you to co-ordinate your loved one’s farewell, taking stress off you. I never mind how many times you need to phone me, talk with me face to face or email me. I will be available for you.

House Blessing.

Moving into a new home, either a brand new house or one someone else has lived in before? I can come to your home for a Home Blessing.

This is a Christian ceremony which places God’s blessing on your home and family. When there has been a trauma, a loss, a divorce etc. ‘a spiritual cleansing’ and blessing of the home brings a peace and a sense of new beginning.

Boat Naming and Launching.

You don’t have to smash the champagne bottle on the side of your boat – you can drink it instead! Why not have a celebration to launch and name your new boat?

A boat is an expensive purchase, why not celebrate it with friends and family!
